First it is important to know the proper way to put on a triathlon wetsuit. Because the suits are designed to fit so snugly putting them on can be a difficult task. Your finger nails are the first place to start so make sure they are trimmed or covered so they do not snag or puncture your new suit. Ok, now you will begin by entering the suit feet first and then slowly working the suit up your body until you reach the hips. Then you will take special care to make sure the suit fits right at both the front of your body and the back.
Then you insert your arms in the sleeves one at a time, you will want to see to it that the suit is bunching up around your shoulders. There will be an internal back flap that needs to rest and lay flat against your back. Locate the collar flap and see to it that it lays flat too. Make some final adjustments to the suit so it fits just right around the torso, chest and arms. Make sure the triathlon wetsuit is stretched in all the right places for maximum movement.
When you have finished your water activities with your suit, you will need to learn how to care for it after wards so that it will last you many years to come. Washing your suit right after use is one of the most critical steps in after care. Salt and chlorine can build up and slowly weaken the neoprene material. Hang your suit up with a padded hanger to prevent any creases from being created. Creasing can cause your triathlon wetsuit to lose its ability to keep out cold water. Another element to take into consideration is the sun since heat and sunlight both can deteriorate the suit.
